Website Design Process

Below I outline my creative process for Website Design

Most website design starts with an initial meeting, phone call or email to discuss the clients needs and functionality for the website. Following this meeting, a proposal is sent which outlines the future website’s content and cost. Once given the go ahead to proceed, I start with an initial wire-frame drawing that resembles something like this:

This is a quick sketch to outline the layout of the site and make sure that I’ve allocated space for all the elements that need to be included. During this time, the client is compiling any images, wordage and logos that will be needed for the actual website. Once I’m happy with the wire-frame, I start coding the actual site using the information provided by the client. After the initial design is complete, the client is sent a private preview link to view their new website and test the functionality and flow, which would look something like this:

In some cases, there are minor changes to colors or font size and placement. After both agreeing on the final design, a SEO (search engine optimization) Analysis is run to make sure that the client’s website will show up properly and rank highly in search results. Finally, the website is made live or scheduled for a specific launch date.

Following the initial launch, the website is backed-up on a weekly basis to ensure that all content is safe and secure should the website ever suffer an attack or user error causing it to not function properly.
